Humanitarian Hub
The humanitarian hub has been set up in September 2017. It was created at the initiative of several actors, rolling out a set of services for migrants in transit. Doctors of the World, Doctors without Borders, CIRÉ, Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen, Oxfam Solidarity, the Belgian Red Cross and the Citizen Refugee Support Platform provide medical care, mental health services, legal advice, social assistance, family ties recovery service, clothing distribution and accommodation orientation. The different services are gathered in one place, which means for the migrants less moving and more serenity. All these services are integrated and articulated with each other. At the moment, the actors meet about 200 refugees and migrants per day. "They are very fragile people. They are deeply damaged and disoriented. The Hub represents to them a space where to find an adapted answer to their needs, thanks to the offered services. "

Functieomschrijving

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION The coordinator ensures the good running of the inter-association humanitarian hub project in the CCN premises at the Gare du Nord. He / she ensures, with the field teams of the various associations (DotW, DwB, Oxfam, CIRÉ, Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen, Red Cross, Citizen Platform) a coherence and collaboration between the different services. The coordinator is under the responsibility of the Steering Committee (decision-making body, inter-associative, that meets every 2 weeks). TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for internal communication, between the operational staff and between the two hub levels: the Steering Committee meetings (hereinafter: SC) and the operational meetings (preparation, organization and report on the operational meetings; in case of disagreement between the organizations at the operational level, the coordinator makes the final decision); centralization of training; participates in the SC and communicates the report of the SC at all levels of the hub. • Responsible for the good running of daily services: she/he makes daily operational decisions (such as opening or closing the hub in the event of a strike) and centralizes information on difficulties and good practices. • Responsible for the good management of the media presence in the hub: she/he centralizes information about visits / interviews and ensures compliance with the rules of the hub at this level (no photos of beneficiaries, and so on). • Final security manager within the hub: she/he collaborates with the logistician / facility manager ensuring that all security measures are in place for the protection of staff and beneficiaries and the good running of operations. She/he proposes actions to the SC, to improve security. • Responsible for statistics collecting of each organization and the monthly report writing: she/he participates in the reflection on the improvement of the collecting and sharing of data systems; he/she ensure its implementation and smooth operation, including the sharing of data, between all partners and for purposes decided by the SC. • Responsible for facilitating the relays with the structural external partners of the Belgian network, such as Samusocial, CAW and the reception services of the day. He / she is the relay for the external partners, coming on the spot to the hub, or for activating the relay with the partners of the hub and the beneficiaries. • He / she is flexible to perform other tasks, identified by the Steering Committee.

YOUR PROFILE Experience and training: • Experience in project management: organization, results orientation, coordination, strategic vision • Work experience in the migration context • Knowledge of the context (Maximilien Park, Humanitarian Hub, ...) is an asset. Understanding of the role and 'vision' behind the Hub is essential Skills and qualities: • Autonomy • Diplomacy • Flexibility • Communication: very good oral and written communication skills • Leadership: motivating, coaching, training, coordinating, ... • Technical Skills: IT: Office Suite Languages: fluency in French and English; knowledge of Arabic and Dutch is an asset IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY
